Clots Matter is a non-profit organization; created by patients, run by patients, backed by experts within the Thrombosis community in order to help educate patients across Canada and beyond.
Clots Matter devotes its efforts to building Canadian patient advocates, one clot story at a time.
Canadian patients suffering from blood clots, thrombosis, and other vascular conditions endure a lot of hardship and stress due to the lack of documentation, resources, help groups and awareness campaigns.
Through awareness, advocacy and training, the resources necessary to help patients decrease. As patients get smarter, more aware of their health, the patient-doctor relationship strengthens and increases productivity for healing the patient throughout Canada.
We strongly believe in the education, awareness and prevention therapy for Canadian Patients dealing with Venous Thromboembolism. By taking patients, their family members and friends through an “Advocacy Education Program”, our program graduates have the ability to self-manage their own health care with efficiency and better results, thus reducing the financial burden on the Canadian Health System and providing a helping hand for those in need.
Clots Matter is made up of strong patient care leadership, thus helping to create new leaders who can advocate for their own healthcare and in turn, can also assist other patients within Canada.
We understand each other.
We are an extremely self-sufficient non-profit organization in Canada, not governed by any other interest, business or other.
Aside from referencing materials from respected sources, Clots Matter, it’s programs, learning materials and awareness efforts are completely autonomous.
Clots Matter is dedicated to maintaining partnerships with other like-minded organizations.
Including, but not limited to; Thrombosis Canada™, Leo Pharma Inc, canVECTOR, Thrombosis UK, Stop the Clot, the ISTH and many local community groups.
