Thrombosis is the process of receiving a blockage aka blood clot in the blood vessels, preventing blood flow within the body. Also known as a ‘Thrombus’ forming in a blood vessel.
There are 4 main blood clotting factors which can be fatal.
DVT's can be caused by lack of movement. They present as stifness in the lower limbs, swelling and bruising.
When an artery clots and moves into the lungs, this is called a pulmonary embolism and can be fatal.
The arteries within the brain become blocked by a blood clot (thrombosis), this is called an Ischemic Stroke.
